The team name was chosen to pay homage to the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro National League.  The original Black Barons, produced such players like MLB Hall of Famers Satchel Paige, Mule Suttles, Willie Wells and Willie Mays.  Also on those earlier teams were Major Leaguers Artie Wilson, Hank Thompson and Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe and Charlie Pride. They were developed and Led by Lorenzo "Piper" Davis who himself signed a Professional Contract with the Boston Red Sox.  The club was created much the same way as European Professional Clubs offering Baseball and Softball development for their athletes.  We chose to service the areas of Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie and Mansfield because we felt that these communities have exceptionally talented athletes but no strong organizations to showcase their talent. Champion athletes aren’t just born - they’re selected, trained, molded and tested. We hone raw talent to maturity with quality coaching, primal workouts and a true love of the sport. Teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship - those are the hallmarks of Texas Black Barons Baseball and Softball Club.
